It's Been Awhile

I guess I haven't posted anything in a few days. I sometimes just get side-tracked by life - imagine that! I have been going to football games, shopping, running errands, working, being a mom/wife, and have managed a little scrap time.

First don't forget about the Creative Round-Up and Guest Designer search at Sketches: Creatively Yours. Click here for all the info. You can also check out the great sketches while you are there. The recent card sketch by Ali looks like this:

The recent layout sketch by guest sketch artist, Deanne Burton, looks like this:

Here is my interpretation of Deanne's sketch. I also used this for grade 8 challenge at Scrapadilly.

Crop Layouts

I've been busy with the crop at Scrapadilly. Drea has put up some amazing challenges! Hop on over there if you have a chance. The crop goes until October 2nd.

The first layout I did for the 5th grade challenge - redo an old layout. I used sketch 37 from 52 Sketches & handmade the flowers for the challenge at Scrapping Out Loud.
How It All Began

This one is for the 4th grade challenge - 1 journal spot, 2 ribbons, 3 colors of paper, 4 flowers.
Holiday World

For the 3rd grade challenge you had to do a scraplift. I chose one of Chrispea's layouts.
Still Loving It

The 2nd grade challenge required shapes. This is part of my Conner Prairie album.
Mowing

For the 1st grade challenge you need to make an edged border. I used the top of my CM tag punch to make my border. Another layout for my Conner Prairie album.
Running the Bases

The last one for tonight is the kindergarten challenge layout - use crayon colors for inspiration. Part of my Conner Prairie album.

More Pages of Conner Prairie

I am still working on my Conner Prairie album. These are the militia lieutenant, the blacksmith apprentice, and the potter. This finishes up the photos from Prairietown. I'll now be working on the photos from Liberty Corner.

I'm a Little Behind

It's been that kind of week. I guess that's what happens when I have a four day weekend. The new layout sketch was posted at Creatively Yours. This is a 6 x 12 layout but you could easily adapt it to fit your needs.

Today at SCY we have a card sketch from guest sketch artist, Deanne Burton.

Here's my interpretation

I hope you will swing by and check out the wonderful DT projects. Remember to post a link to your project if you create with these sketches.

Smaller Album

I have this stack of photos of the boys & their friend on a field trip - 2 years ago. We went to Conner Prairie at the end of their 4th grade year. I decided to make a separate album for these photos & went with 9 x 10 landscape. I know the size is a little strange, but I already had the photos printed & that seemed like the size that would work. I am going to bind it with my BIA. Anyways that's what I've been working on this weekend. I've managed to do some pages & fit them into some challenges as well.

The boys playing on pretend tractors. Green & Brown challenge at AMR; Chipboard challenge at Scrapadilly
Tractor

The boys checking out accommodations at the Golden Eagle Inn. Sketch from 52 Sketches; Eyelet challenge at Scrapadilly
The Golden Eagle

The boys picking dandelions for "Mrs. McClure". Ad challenge at Scrapadilly
Chores

The boys separating dandelions & pumping water at the McClure's. Sketch from Pagemaps; Felt Hat Day challenge at Scrapadilly; ABC challenge at Use Your Stash
Still Working

That's it for now. I'll be working on this album for awhile by the looks of the stack of photos.

Snowflakes as Fireworks

I made this layout last night using a sketch from Pagemaps. This was the challenge for Cafe Mojo. The photos (my mom & my boys) are from July 4, 2006. They were playing with sparklers & snaps while we did fireworks. This week's challenge at Scrapping Out Loud was to use something out of season, so I used snowflakes as my exploding fireworks.

Bookmark

The sketch at Creatively Yours this week is for a bookmark. Here's Ali's sketch.

Here's the bookmark I made.

I was able to recycle a granola bar box, so it would be a little more sturdy. I only used scraps to make this - very easy to do! I made the bird out of toilet paper using this tutorial. I hope you'll swing by Creatively Yours to check out the other bookmarks & make one of your own (or several to give away). Please be sure to show us your work by linking up in the comments section.
