Another Snow Day

Another snow day today. Nothing like a 5 day weekend! I went shopping with my parents at Jo-Ann's. I found some cute Cloud 9 paper & embellishments that were all 40% off. I also found some cuttlebug dies on clearance that will fit in my sidekick. Happy shopping trip for me!

Found this website & thought I'd give it a go. It's Friday Fill-Ins. So here are mine for this week.

1. I'd really like some ice cream right now.
2. "Ow" is the word you'd most often hear me say if I stubbed my toe.
3. Possession is nine tenths of the law.
4. Yes sir, Captain Jack Sparrow.
5. Marshmallows and fire go together like chocolate and peanuts.
6. She babbled on and on.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to eating out, tomorrow my plans include dinner & a show and Sunday, I want to sleep in!

Pics of the Snow

Thought I'd share our snow. The boys went sledding with their youth group, but I didn't go. So no pictures of that.

Snow Days

After 10 inches of snow Tuesday night, we are on snow day #2 this week. This has given me a chance to scrap!! I didn't get a lot accomplished yesterday. Just finished my Valentine atc's for the AMR swap.

Today I made scripture card #4 - wait. I started doing the scripture challenge from Triple the Scraps last June. I got side-tracked after 3 cards. I am hoping to keep up a little more this time around.

I also completed this week's amr card challenge and color challenge using this week's sketch from 52 Sketches.

If you haven't checked out amr you should! You have to join (it's free) to see any of the boards. There are challenges going on every day, chit chat about anything, recipes for some yummy food, daily scriptures, and certainly scrapbook chit chat. The owner, Stacey, is just awesome along with all of the other gals. So come on over & check it out.

Happy Sunday

It's Sunday night. I have to go back to school tomorrow after a 3-day weekend. I did manage to get some scrapping done. My latest layout had pictures from Dec. 98. We were all playing with Play-doh that the boys had received for Christmas. I used CM & Crate Papers.

AMR has some exciting things taking place. There is a new challenge team & forum. Each day Monday through Friday new challenges will be posted. There is also a new card & stamp team that will be posting card challenges, techniques, videos, etc. Check out the new challenge blog! If you have not joined AMR, now is a great time to jump on over and check it out!!

New Layout

Just finished this one. It was giving me fits, but I like how it turned out. The layout is of the boys from Fall 98. It's a double page 8.5 x 11. I used Collage Press Camden papers & sketch from PageMaps Sept 08.

AMR's 1st Anniversary Crop

It's almost time for the crop at AMR. Have you registered yet? Here's the info from our crop hostess Anne Marie:

January 9-10, 2009

Hey gals, this is going to be a BIG, FUN-FILLED crop to celebrate the 1 year Anniversary of the AMR Message Board -- but it's also a trial run of a "big crop" idea that Stacey and I wanted to do every 3 months or so, filling in with smaller more informal crops in the months in between. The schedule is designed to please our "late night girlz" as well as our "early bird girlz", the west coast, the east coast, and everyone in between!

I will be the Crop Host during most of the event, with Stacey and others filling in to Host the hours I can't do it. We will have some activities & AMR challenges posted during the most "awake" times for everyone -- and those activities and challenges (once posted) will be available for the rest of the crop so you won't feel like you'll miss anything! Post away if you have any questions!

Schedule (Pacific Time):
Friday -- 6pm -12am
Saturday -- 9am-9pm

Schedule (Mountain Time):
Friday -- 7pm-1am
Saturday -- 10am-10pm

Schedule (Central Time):
Friday -- 8pm-2am
Saturday -- 11am-11pm

Schedule (Eastern Time):
Friday -- 9pm-3am
Saturday -- 12pm-12am

4 Fun Classes -- will be sprinkled thru the schedule, and each Class will have a Challenge. You'll have until Thursday, Jan. 15 to submit your entry to the challenge post to be in the RAK drawing for that Class. I'll have a final schedule and Crop Supply List up this Friday, Dec. 19.

Member Challenges -- everyone loves this, so let's keep going! If you want to submit a challenge, you're welcome to run it by me first or just hold it until the Crop and post it in the Crop Forum. If there's anything really specific you think people need to know about beforehand, please send me a PM by Friday Dec. 19 and I'll include it in the Crop Supply List.

Crop Hours -- I picked these hours to appeal to both West Coast and East Coast croppers, the early birds and the late nighters -- a little something that fits somewhere in almost everyone's schedule! Whoever wants to come into the Crop Forum earlier than the scheduled hours, you're welcome to do so! There just won't be any scheduled activities or AMR Hosts ... but YOU can just jump in and be your own host and even post your own challenges or giveaways if you want to get the ball rolling! I think everyone loves it when we can be flexible and just hang loose, so have at it!

I wanted to give everyone a heads-up so you've got plenty of time to gather what you might need! Here's what we have on tap!

Kelli's Class: "Inchie Card" -- this is so cute, you're going to love it!

15/16" "inchie punch" (if you don't have one, a 1" punch will do!)
cardstock in various colors
your favorite Rubber Stamp Tapestry set, or set of small floral images
stamp pads in colors of your choice
embellishments if desired

Laura's Class: Mini Badge Album -- she has a lot of clever ideas on how to use this adorable mini! Seems like a lot of supplies, but it's just that she's thorough, so don't panic!

8x8 piece (or larger) of Mat Board (Similar to Cosmo Cricket’s Black board, available at art framing stores).
1-2 Binder Rings OR ¾ inch Bind-It-All wires
1 pkg of badge holders (in the office supply section of Target, Wal-Mart, or office supply store)
3-4 sheets of a coordinating line, preferably with a design element that can be cut out like flowers, animals, etc. (Class example will be based on Basic Grey’s Urban Prairie, available at AMR).
12” of a matching ¾ wide ribbon.
Diamond Glaze OR Glossy Accents
Your favorite paper-to-chipboard adhesive
craft knife
sanding block, file, or sandpaper
cropadile (or hole punch)

Optional Supplies: ponytail holder or super-durable rubber band; Coin or small envelope to match the size of your badge holders, bind-it-all, cuttlebug/big kick, oval nestabilities

Anne Marie's Class: 2009 Goals/Dreams Layout -- I may not be the most creative person in the world, but I'm organized like no one's business, LOL! So I thought I'd guide you through capturing your goals & dreams for the new year in a layout!

Any favorite papers & embellies.
Optional: 2-3 sheets of vellum to create small envelopes
Look for pre-class post 1st week of January to help you prepare the journaling for this layout!

Samantha's Class: Black Soot Stamping technique -- YES! Sam is coming back! Some of you may have seen an example of this technique on her blog. She's going to take us step-by-step. I can't wait!

Glossy White cardstock
Versamark ink & Basic Black ink
a candle (you'll be using an open flame, so make sure you have a safe, stable area to do this!)
a kleenex or paper towel

Important Crop Supply Note -- If you DON'T have the supplies and can't get them.... PLEASE DON'T SWEAT IT! Life is too short. Just jump right in and I'm sure between you, me, the class leader, and the other 500 women on this board we can think of all sorts of substitutions, LOL!

End of Break

Well Christmas break has come to an end. I have to go back to school tomorrow and deal with 7th graders. Not so sure I'm looking forward to that. I'm also not looking forward to getting up early! Since we had 2 snow days before break, we won't have a day off until the end of March. So much to look forward to!

It was happy mail day Saturday. My order from AMR arrived! I had ordered the new BoBunny Winter Whisper papers along with some other papers. They are just beautiful!!! I went shopping yesterday. Dan had given me an Archiver's gift card for Christmas so off I went without the family. It was quite peaceful & I got to browse as long as I wanted!! I bought quite a few papers. Yes it was a paper day.

I made a layout today using one of the January pagemaps. This was a challenge at Scrapadilly.

Materials used: blue, white, cream, stripe papers - CTMH; tan cardstock - BoBunny; misc buttons; ink - Versacolor

As work starts again, I at least have some things to look forward to this week. My birthday is Wednesday. Friday is my monthly crop at church. Friday & Saturday is the crop at AMR. 52 sketches has a new sketch up for the week and there are plenty of challenges still to conquer at Scrapadilly. So much scrapping to look forward to even though I have to go back to work.

It's Friday!!

Yay it's Friday. Of course that means I only have a few more days off and then it's back to school. So I am going to take advantage of this time and do some scrapbooking!!

My first layout of the year is for the challenge at 52 sketches. The boys are about 20 months in these pictures. We were at my parents house for a Halloween Party. I dressed the boys up as Winnie the Pooh. They didn't like wearing their hats.

Materials: brown cardstock - CTMH; cream cardstock - Hobby Lobby; patterned papers & orange letters - Creative Memories; buttons - unknown; floss - DMC; red letters - Doodlebugs; stamp - Will N Way; inks - Colorbox

My word for 2009:

{FAITH} - 2 a (1): belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2): belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1): firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2): complete trust; 3: something that is believed especially with strong conviction

Have you picked your word for the year?

Don't forget the crop at AMR January 9-10. If you have not registered, go do it now!!!!

Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe that 2008 is over and a new year has begun. We've had a pretty decent year.
**January brought in the new year (08) without too much fanfare. I turned 38.
**In February the boys turned 11, and we were able to see the eclipse of the moon.
**March brought us a little ice & snow. Dan turned 39, and the boys were baptized.
**In April my mom, sister, niece, and I participated in the Walk for a Cure in Indianapolis. This was a first for us, and we are looking forward to the next one. We walked in memory of my grandma and great-grandma. The boys took swim lessons for the first time in their life. Caleb loved it! Jacob managed to get through. I did a picture a day for the entire month! Now I need to finish putting it in an album.
**May was filled with exciting moments, memorable moments, and some changes that weren't fully accepted. Jacob finally learned to ride a bike. Dan & I celebrated 17 years of marriage. We took the camper out for our first trip of the year to the Smoky Mountains. My parents & my sister's family joined us. They boys "graduated" from 5th grade, and I found out I would be changing jobs. The job change was not something I wanted. After 12 years of teaching elementary resource I was moving to the middle school.
**In June we took our annual family outing to the Outer Banks. I did get to meet obxpatti while I was there!!
**July found us back in the Smoky Mountains for Fourth of July. Jacob just about shook hands with a bear. That was a bit startling! I took classes to renew my teaching license.
**August was a busy month. Dan & I took a vacation (the Smoky Mountains) by ourselves. This was a first! The boys went with my parents on a train trip to Colorado. School started - middle school for all of us! We attended a family reunion on my mom's side. I started going to a monthly dinner with some ladies I worked with at my last school. At the end of August beginning of September, we took the camper out for the last trip of the year. We went to Brown County State Park for Labor Day weekend.
**September brought the start of football for Jacob.
**In October Caleb did his best to decorate for Halloween. It was a bit disappointing when someone stole some of his decorations. We had our annual Halloween party at Nana's. This year included a trip to a nearby corn maze. Dan & I started going to a financial class at church (Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University). I participated in a Week of My Life album. I took pictures daily for the entire week. The family was quite irritated by the end of the seven days.
**November wasn't very eventful. We went to my mom's for Thanksgiving.
**December brought us the end of another year. We finished up our financial class. We went to Beef & Boards for their Christmas Special with my parents & my sister's family. We celebrated on Christmas Eve with my parents & sister's family and Christmas day with his parents & siblings. New Year's Eve brought a house appraisal & some festivities with my parents. I picked my word for the year {FAITH}. I hope to continue in my faith & see what God's purpose is for my life.
**This year I have continued to scrapbook. I've made many layouts, some mini albums, and quite a few cards. Thanks to a year at allmomentsremembered my scrapbooking has changed for the better I think. I have tried mini albums, actually used the stamps I've bought, put chipboard on my layouts, stitched on layouts, and much more. I've also tried challenges on some blogs. I can't wait to see what the new year brings! AMR is celebrating it's one year anniversary. Come sign up and join us for the crop on January 9-10!!

Happy New Year to all!!!
